Teel’s gas pipe is manufactured in recognizable industry standard colors and markings. Custom reel and stick lengths are available. See our material and ingredient listings on the Plastics Pipe Institute website.
Teel’s medium-density polyethylene gas pipe is made from 2708 MDPE material that meets or exceeds regulatory and performance standards for gas applications up to 80 psi. It is compliant with PHMSA requirements for regulated gas distribution operations and is compliant with all standard joining techniques. MDPE gas pipe resists slow crack growth, rapid crack propagation, UV degradation, and most gas solvents and chemicals. Its light weight, flexibility, and long laying lengths help make installation easier and less expensive.

Teel’s high-density polyethylene gas pipe is made from 4710 HDPE material that meets or exceeds regulatory and performance standards for gas applications up to 125 psi. Adding to the general features and benefits of MDPE, HDPE gas pipe’s increased working stress rating allows for thinner walls for a given operating pressure. HDPE’s strong walls also give it added resistance to slow crack growth and rapid crack growth. With increased strength, HDPE also maintains considerable flexibility which aids in installation.
