'Wood-Looking' Window Trim

March 5, 2008
03/05/08 'WOOD-LOOKING' WINDOW TRIM

Teel Plastics, Baraboo, Wis., specializes in tight-tolerance profiles extruded of wood-filled plastic. Our newest product is a unique wood/plastic window and door trim that’s clad with real wood veneer. The profile is 50/50 wood and PP foamed to a density of 0.98 g/cc (vs. 1.2 g/ cc solid), adding stiffness and better holding force for nails and screws. The profile is wrapped off-line with either wood veneer or paintable white PVC film, both slit from roll stock. The result is woodworking trim that can be painted or varnished like wood. Our window trim is featured in the March 2008 issue of Plastics Technology.

Founded in 1951, Teel Plastics, and its subsidiary Teel GRT, currently operates four divisions including custom pultrusion/finishing, custom extrusion/finishing, custom bag making and the manufacture of products utilizing agrifiber and plastic composites. Teel Plastics is certified to ISO 9001 and maintains a workforce of over 275 fulltime employees in the Baraboo area.
