PRESS RELEASE

May 18, 2006
05/18/06 PLASTIC WIP CORES REDUCE COSTS

Teel Plastics has expanded its production capabilities, increased its resin availability and added many finishing options to its Work in Progress (WIP) plastic core product line. Cores can be constructed from polyethylene (PE), high impact polystyrene (HIPS), or acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), depending on specific customer requirements. This is especially effective for converting customers switching from fiber cores, as the added strength and cleanliness of Teel’s plastic cores can significantly increase the life span of the WIP cores they are using.

WIP core features:
- Maximize core strength with high tensile thermoplastic resin
- Increase durability with crush strength better than ½” – 5/8” wall paper cores
- Typical reuse 20-40 turns
- Moisture and chemical resistant
- Eliminate paper fiber contamination in cleanroom converting applications
- Improve resistance to ID surface breakdowns from winding and unwinding operations
- Precision manufacturing with close tolerances and stringent quality requirements

Teel’s high-quality close-tolerance plastic cores can be manufactured up to 8.5” OD with wall thickness up to .485”.
